Bear Lake 2011!

Another fun year at the cabin at Bear Lake. Thank you Aunt Kami. Every year I take the Middleton Family up to spend a week at the cabin. We usually go the first week in August, but with the baby due so close to that time I didn't want to risk having a baby away from home. So we went in July!

For the most part this is a simple week of relaxing, games, movies, reading, and just enjoying the quiet and beautiful view. We did find a day to go to the beach, which is a must. The water was a lot higher this year so the only place we could find beach was going to the North Shore. It worked out wonderfully!!

Here Addison had fun making sand castles with Grandpa.
Kristian and Mommy...

Jet Ski fun... (Thank you to Sarah and Adam for providing the Jet Ski this year). Jon only rode for about 10 minutes before hitting a large wave and losing a contact lens (um.... oops!)

More cute pictures of the kids...

(cutest little sandy bum cheeks ever!)

Kristian and Addison went with Dad and Grandpa to hike the Minnetonka Cave. They were such troopers!! They didn't get any pictures of them.. so I'll share this... Mommy, enjoying her quiet time, was able to read an entire 370 page book in a day! The Hunger Games! Excellent Book!!!!!

It was a great week and we had such a fun time being together! Thank you Aunt Kami and Bear Lake for another fun year! ...now its time to shift gears and get ready for the new baby and all the changes coming our way!!

Go Real Salt Lake!

We have been fortunate enough to be able to go to a couple of Real Salt Lake games this year. We had two extra tickets so we took Uncle Scottie and Kristian with us to the FC Dallas VS Real SL game. Kristian had so much fun!!

Its been fun for me to get to know the sport of soccer a little more. Its definitely more fun being in the atmosphere of the Rio Tinto Stadium!

Swimming Fun

So, I have to share a funny story. Jon and I took the kids up to the Sandy Recreation Center so that we could swim. So, we're swimming and all of a sudden they blow the whistle and everyone gets out of the pool. I look at Jon and say : "What? Are they closed already? Why is everyone getting out of the pool?" ... he looked at me strange and said, "What do you mean, what are they doing? They always do this. Its a public pool."

Jon thought it was funny that I was so foreign to the idea that public pool takes breaks and makes everyone in the pool get out. Remember that I grew up using the private pool in Grandma and Grandpa's back yard!

Its now a joke.. "Us private pool kids don't know what its like to be in a public pool." I was slightly comforted when Aunt Jodi confessed that she only found this out a few years ago. Us "private pool kids" just don't know how it is!! Ha Ha!

Aunt Jodi came with us another time. Kids had so much fun!!

Cute little Addie bug playing in the fountains...

Here is Kristian about to get dumped on by this large yellow bucket that fills with water. Each time we go he gets more brave to let it splash all over him.
